There is nothing more powerful than art when it comes to encouraging people to join a movement. We have been beaten down and laid down and taken it for so many years now. We don’t have to. Queer people deserve to live here. Trans people deserve to live here. People of color deserve to live here. Immigrants deserve to live here. We deserve to be able to afford our daily lives. We all deserve to have a place to sleep at night. We all deserve to go to the doctor when we are sick. We all deserve so much more than we are being given right now. Its no longer left versus right, its top versus bottom. My name is Cy. I am trans. I am nonbinary. I am queer. I am mixed. I am an artist. I want to create a vibrant community of beautiful artists and people who want to listen in Philadelphia. We will support all art, whether you make music, or write poetry, or plays, or dance or paint or sculpt. Whatever it is. We are here to listen and pay attention and protest and spread it around and get ears and eyes on it. Its time to fight back. Its time to share resources. Its time to educate ourselves on our rights. Its time to support each other. Its time to spread love and light in this city. We can do better.
